Toilet Paper Shortage?

I'm here to tell you 21 months in, using water cleans better and feels like a waterfall of dreams.

Got transferred from Kegue with Elder Summers to Attiegou with Elder N'Cho. It's right next door so looks like I might be finishing in Togo after all.

Here are just some photos of people that were going to be baptized this past Saturday but... coronavirus so hopefully in the next little bit that'll be all cleared up.

Coranavirus, Civil Unrest, and Fishing

Coronavirus- Not a problem at all. Only one dude has it in Nigeria so we're fine out here.

Civil Unrest- No problem. Just some tear gas into some riots but appearantly that's already over.

Fishing- Had some kids we're teaching tell us they know how to fish so we went with them to a river... they had no idea; they just tied some yarn to sticks and thought fish would bite. So we didnt end up fishing but we did get to teach them how to skip rocks.

Also got to go visit agoe on some exchanges this week and see the old homies. Had a great time catching up with them since I haven't seen them in like a year.

Round 3

Sorry guys, not a lot of exciting stuff this week, was having a really good start of the week and we had planned on going fishing today with some kids. But, got to have the adventure of having malaria, again. So here's some pictures of where we usually walk around and where I wanted to be while I laid in my bed for most of the week. Also, strange turn of events my companion also had malaria at the same time as me. But it was his first time so he didn't take it as well but at least we were miserable together. We're both fine now! Hope you guys have a great week!

I Smash Peanuts Until My Hands Bleed

That's basically it. Smashed some peanuts for a lady that we're teaching for about an hour and then got some blisters on my blisters and then my hands started to bleed. They use the smashed up peanuts to make some snacks here and we just were helping her speed up her work.

Also convinced my companion to shave his legs, no photos on that.

Yep Still Here

Nothing big this week just some pictures with some stories.

First picture: A brother of a member of the church here is a self proclaimed prophet so in this picture he's telling Elder Summers that he is going to be a pastor in a different church, wearing a black robe, and probably die without a family. Also told us it was his destiny so he could do nothing to change it; we tried to explain free agency to him but I think the concept went over his head.

Second picture: A random kid pulled up a cardboard box next to where we were sitting, climbed in, and then started to cry hysterically. His mother came over and started to yell at us because she thought we put him in the box but we tried to explain it to her and she just asked why would he do that, that doesn't make sense. I agreed and then she slapped me. So thanks random box kid.

Third picture: On Saturday we got a call from Fr Joachim, and he said that he was in town so we met up with him and turns out every bishopric from Benin was at our building for some eccliastrical training from Ghana. So I got to see some old friends from Benin that I have not seen in quite a while. I took a lot of pictures with them but here's one with me Joachim, Patrick and David.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

The only real noticeable change in the landscape in Benin is a few additional stands to sell very cheap plastic toys that everyone will buy for their kids. Been playing a lot of Christmas music in the apartment but it's still 100 degrees with humidity so I guess I'll just have to wait for next year for a white Christmas. This morning we drove down into Cotonou to go clean up a park with the other missionaries in Benin and the most Benin thing that could happen did. As we were all cleaning a mid aged lady came into the middle of the park took her clothes off, took some of our water bottles and started to take a shower in the middle of the park in downtown Cotonou.
